I was looking at the free agents this year for forwards and I didn't realize that Joe Thornton might actually be the best free agent this year next to Justin Williams.

 

Feel like that has been known since the trade deadline last year lol. They need to start making some room for the kids.

 

Wonder how long the Pens sign Thornton for..

 

lol Vesalainen. Him and Logan Stanley probably won't see ice in the NHL. Huge guys with hands of stone.

They definitely want to be the biggest team on the ice. Not sure about wanting to put a team that wins together though.

Perreault, Petan and Enstrom are tiny though.

 

In that red wings article they talk about the fact that around the league, it's believed that you can't have a team filled with mostly guys 6ft and under and I'm still perplexed by what I think or don't about it. I guess mostly, upside is upside and you can convince yourself of anything. Based on Stanley's stats, he hasn't changed a bunch since last year but it's only been a year. If they trade him for a backup goalie halfway through the season though, you know why.

 

Yeah I am not sure. I wouldn`t mind having a small forward like Geaudreau or Edmontons newly aquired Yamamoto. Those guys would make Logan Stanley fall on his ass. I think the plan for the jets is to eventually bring Logan Stanley on the team so he can be a twin tower with Myers.

 

Being a jets fan doesn't sound like a lot of fun, from what you usually post about it haha

Yamamoto was one of the guys I wanted if we didn't go for a center. I don't hate our pick anymore, and I've warmed up to it, but I can't help but feel this FO is averse to small scoring forwards. Had the chance to take Debrincat last year too :/

 

DeBrincat is the new Panarin.

That is, unless we can't LTIR Hossa and have to ship him out with Kruger or someone else.
