Finally a comp that you can sort of understand. I haven't seen a ton of Elias, but comparing to him to Ry Jo is at least palatable on the surface. Unless they truly believe the Datysuk or Karlsson comps, but that is a bit extreme.

I guess this our first pick, really. Seemed like it could go either way on whether he would come over. I expect Murray to be dealt as a result.

I know nothing about this Rangers guy

 

He was supposed to go in the teens, I saw him in the 13-18 area a lot. They just don't have him ranked in the top 10

 

Most mocks I saw had him around the teens.

 

Fuck this... what a reach.

 

It's really not that bad a reach. He's the 13th ranked prospect in the draft. Go get your guy if that's who you want at 7. In this draft where the players 6-15 are all so similar to each other that's not bad at all. That's different than picking Makar over Hischier or Patrick

 

sportsnet is really after that emotional storyline

There's good players available at 9 so I expect the wings to trade down or fuck up

definitely like Rasmussen's size. He and Mantha could be a power forward duo
