The Skinner trade rumors don’t make any sense to me. I really hope it’s just the annual smoke around him. He’s one of the more underrated players in the league and Carolina would not get equal value back. And I want to see him under someone other than Peters now that’s he’s developed into more of a complete player.

 

I'm not really sure what the canes will do and that's what makes them interesting

 

Canes will trade Darling back to the Hawks when it's announced that concussions have forced Crow into early retirement.

for a 2nd line center, those numbers are more than good enough.

money wise probably but length wise, I'd be wary. He is elite in front of the net but he isn't all that great in the rest of his game to be honest. His style of play probably won't age well into his 30s.

 

One of JVR, Nash, or Kane is destined for a big Vancouver contract/buyout

 

Yeah that’s why I’m scared of him. I could see a scenario where Carolina goes after him after missing out on Tavares.

Skinner - Lindholm - Svechnikov
McGinn - Staal - Williams

That’s the top 9 right now, provided we draft correctly. That would leave Rask either on the 4th line, or slotting in the top 9 if Necas needs another year. If that’s the case, you could also make the argument they would try Aho at center and make a push for JvR.

Carolina management has found themselves in a position where they no longer need to make a move for elite talent up top. They will do what they can to fix things in net, and then hand over the keys to Brind’Amour.

 

Or slot JVR on the 3rd line with Staal/Williams

Zykov - Rask - McGinn on the 4th

 

We’ve got Hanifin, TVR, and Lindholm deals this summer. Aho, Teravainen, and Skinner next summer. Faulk comes up in two years. Even if he keeps up a high level of play for close to his whole contract, JVR creates a headache in the future when our young talent starts asking for more money.
