Said to myself when shit was hitting the fan with all the injuries back in October-December that the Ducks just needed to stay afloat long enough to get the main guys healthy and maybe squeeze in at that point. But they got home ice in the first round! Getzlaf has been incredible since coming back from injury and has willed this team to where they are now. All of this not possible without John Gibson so please give him a nomination NHL.

Amidst all my pessimism, someone asked me the other day if I'd concede the Leafs have an actual chance at the Cup if we can get by Boston/Tampa - two teams we've played pretty well this year no less - and I begrudgingly conceded. And now I'm nervous. I actively hope we lose in the first round now because I'm not ready to deal with the stress of a meaningful playoff run.
