So tonight was Patrick sharps last home game and I heard tomorrow will be his last nhl game as he plans to retire at some point in the off season

 

Figured it was most likely coming. What a career. Gotta watch that last game

 

Just tragic

 

That's half the people on the bus that died. Assuming 3 coaches and the driver, that means there were 24 players. The best case scenario is that 14 players survived. The worst case is 10 players. That's just awful beyond words.

Edit: combed the Reddit comments and it looks like at least 2 of deceased are the head coach and an assistant coach as confirmed by people who know them. Sounds like this was a team from a very small tight knit community which makes it feel so much worse

 

So tragic, I can't even imagine being on your way to a game with all of your friends/teammates one minute and then the next minute literally half of them are dead. Like how do you even begin to process that. Holy cow.

Especially when you're all just 16-20 years old. The kids in Junior give up everything for just a glimmer of a chance at the pros. Puts things in perspective when stuff like this happens.

Flyers aren’t going to do jackshit in the playoffs but getting this young core some seasoning will serve them well in future years when they’re more equipped for a run

 

He won’t win but I am surprised at the absolute lack of mention of Claude Giroux and the Hart Trophy. He should absolutely be in that top tier of candidates.
