Of course not. I’ll go on record now of saying I love traditions as much as the next person, but I’m against the use of dead animals as props.

 

I get hating the pens if they win three in a row but I could see the perds winning 4 in a row in the next decade because they're so ridiculously stacked also

I was at a game years ago, when the guy who started the 'tradition' walked into the bathroom with it. He had it in a cooler and he was letting people take a look at it. It wasn't long after that they quit letting the guy bring it into the stadium. Now the only way people can get one in is to take it to their body. It's absurd what people will do a for a silly tradition.

 

I was actually talking to my fiancé about this (namely the octopus/detroit but said you all have the catfish now) and she's new to hockey and looked just absolutely disgusted/blown away that people go to those measures haha

 

It absolutely is disgusting. That guy who threw one on the ice in Pittsburgh in the SCF had it taped to his leg if I remember right. Imagine having a dead fish taped to your back or leg then try not to vomit.

It's pretty fantastic that assuming that Avs and Blues both win their next games that they'll have a winner is in the playoffs game for the final game of the season against each other. Couldn't have planned it any better!
