Twitter says that with the Avalanche's loss last night, the Stars are officially mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. I mean, we all knew, with this end of season collapse and everything. That last road trip sealed the deal. But still, at least they were mathematically eliminated with only three games left. That's better than last year...

They have $12 mil. with McDavid's contract kicking in. Then take away what they pay Strome, Nurse, Benning and Caggiula. Still will have some room to work with but they need a ton of help on the wings. Of course they'll probably trade Klefbom for some magic beans and create a new hole on the roster since that's what Chiarelli does every off-season.
