I’m not sure what Bill Peters has done to earn so much praise except lose a bunch of games.

 

He tried to lay a hit on Pateryn last night and ended up going helmet to helmet. They both fell, and Pateryn even looked like he was going to punch him before he realized that Shaw was like...out of it. And Shaw left the game. Pateryn is fine.

Another angle:

People are piling on Pateryn because post-game he said "This is why he (Shaw) gets 4 or 5 concussions a year, because he plays like that." It wasn't a great comment to make, but this is literally how he got his last concussion - colliding with Skjei (or however you spell it) the same way.

Pateryn says Shaw was knocked out as soon as they collided.

 

Lol exactly...I can't ever remember how it goes, but I give myself a pass because he's not on one of my teams. Glad to see I got it right though!

Now let's do that hockey! :)

 

Please fuck don’t expand playoffs. >50% qualifying is stupid as all shit.

 

Why the hell would you expand the playoffs because you are adding one team?

Stars vs Leafs tonight. The Stars haven't been playing well. I'm assuming Hitch laid into them after Montreal - post-game he basically said that our top players looked like they were standing around waiting for a power play, so...

I'm torn, obviously, because points are so important in the Central so I need the Stars to win, plus they lost to the Leafs in Dallas - BUT, I also really want to see Johnsson get his first NHL point tonight!

Aaand that's what it's been like watching the Stars the last couple weeks.

 

Well damn the Stars tied it up in under two minutes. Maybe they woke up.

Also for real is that how Johnsson's debut ends? Poor kid.

I took off the next 2 days to watch the tournament, so I am going to stay up and watch the Devils get pooped on by the Knights

Why do I do this to myself

 

I’d kind of like to see the Blues work themselves back in to the wild card over the Stars. Something about the Stars makes me nervous as a potential first round matchup.

 

God bless Joe Bowen, this game is bonkers... So evenly matched, honestly - and a hatty for JVR, first the Stars came back in a big way, then the Leafs came back in a big way... And now to OT.

Edit: although I'm not the biggest fan of Razor's razorisms, tonight he said the phrase "impressed and depressed" and that's exactly how I feel - like, both teams played a hell of a game, but half the Western Conference is knocking on our door and one point from this game ain't gonna cut it... The Stars are three points away from missing the playoffs. Every game counts in the Central.

I love the Leafs, obviously, but we have a sure ticket already. Meanwhile the Stars are struggling for a wild card spot. This game was crazy and entertaining but I kind of wish it had ended a different way.
