more I think about it, the more I don't actually HATE the Maroon deal. Assuming he plays in the bottom 6, it isn't so bad.

if Johansson and Gibbons ever come back, the Devils will have some insane forward depth. They'd have to sit actual good forwards. Can't remember the last time that ever happened

Bergevin is actually doing great, he still has somewhat of a team in place yet is gonna have a top 5 pick and like 5 2nd rounders this year.

Were people actually upset about it? NJ trading for a rental is kind of weird but it's just a third round pick and Maroon is a pretty good middle-six player. Devils must have some high priority on just making the playoffs for revenue or something.

 

I just don't really like Maroon and he doesnt fit the style of play. But it seems like they wanted another big body with some sandpaper because teams have been pushing the young kids around recently

I don't care about Dudek because they werent going to sign him anyways and the pick is 2019 so its no big deal, it just kind of goes against what Shero has been saying about rentals. I guess since they've drafted so well recently, they can afford to give up a few picks
