And despite allowing 5 goals, Andersen was actually fantastic. Dude made a handful of enormous saves for us.

 

How did the bolts lose to the panthers?

 

Man, slashing calls are fucking weak now.

 

I'm all for them making the game safer, but overall I'm not a huge fan of how hardcore they're treating the slashing calls now. I also think that they need to focus more on the moves that are more notorious for actually causing injuries - such as how they've been increasingly strict on shots to the head. But yeah, I guess we'll see how the new slashing stuff plays out.

Also HOW ABOUT THAT CANES GAME? That is the way to start a season. Couldn't have been more dramatic if it was a Mighty Ducks movie.

 

Weak defensive coverage and putting up a ridiculously low total of shots on goal yet again. I wanna be upset but hearing the Jimmy Eat World goal song five times tonight was just too good and it was an exciting game.

Also JT Brown raised his fist during the anthem tonight so now I get to sit back and watch all the secretly racist Lightning fans expose themselves.

 

Bad period for Edmonton

 

The hawks are going to be very tough team to beat this year. I know it’s only 2 games but they’ve scored 15 goals. I have a very good feeling about them this year. This looks like a team that’s on a mission. They have the look of the 2013 and 2015 teams

Starting to think the Ducks should pull the goalie late in the 3rd if the game is tied just to avoid OT.

Sharks have allowed 11 penalties in two games and nearly 70 shots on goal.

I’m not really confused about Jones sucking but dang this team defense has just been bad and that’s weird.

 

Total joke that the Koivu goal was allowed to stand. Dumba just stood in the crease after being shoved in and Darling had no chance to get back in position.

Stoked on this Canes team. They looked really sloppy defensively, but it looks like they'll be able to score a little more. Lindholm usually waits until January to play as well as he did tonight and Aho's two assists were things of beauty. Going to be a lot of fun games this year.
