What's your ideal trade for the Canes?

 

Hanifin for Galchenyuk or Reinhart. I have faith that RF can bring in a really solid 2nd pairing LHD for a good price, and that would cover the loss of Hanifin.

 

Fleury could be ready to fill that role by the end of this next season.

But seeing what Drouin went for, I think giving up Hanifin for Galchenyuk would be an overpayment from us.

 

Yeah, we'd probably ask for a serviceable asset alongside Gally.

 

What is Gallys contract deets?

It'll suck but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a 1 year extension and stays this season if they don't find something they like enough. Trades are fun, don't do it Galy!

Why doesn't NYI just go the 8 skater route and protect 5 defensemen? JT, Ladd, Lee/Nelson and then Leddy, Boychuk, Ham, CDH, and Pulock/Pelech and let Vegas have Strome/Lee/Nelson.

 

Is de Haan a solid defenseman?

 

trade hamonic and the only ones they need to protect is leddy, boychuk and CDH

Neither Pulock and Pelech are exempt per Isles fans.

 

Are they actually worthy of a protection spot though?

 

Most Isles fans would seemingly prefer to lose Strome/Lee/Cizikas over either of those 2.
