Patiently waiting for Carolina to announce a new captain. Everyone said after camp and before the new season, so here we are.

Yeah, Stempniak being out opened up a spot for him.

 

tomorrow will be a nice end to a very long off season

 

Also though, I’m only expecting him to get his 9 games. The fight to be the extra forward came down to him and Kuokkanen, and they both made it given Stemp’s injury. Once he’s back, I assume that extra spot goes to Kuokkanen, given he’s a year ahead in development, and overall seems more NHL ready. It’s really up to one of those two to stake their claim and force Stempniak out of the line up, even once he’s healthy.

If he finds himself as the odd man out, I hope he spends the year in Charlotte. Juniors wouldn’t really further his development, and I’d rather him adapt to NA ice for a year instead of going back to the Czech league.

 

I was hoping to maybe see him play in Saginaw, but I agree about his development. I think he'll be a good player, and can't be too far from joining the NHL

The only real upside to losing Subban is that Vladar gets time in Providence. Khudobin could have cleared waivers, and I’m not so sure he’s a surefire upgrade over Subban
