Gauthier had an awesome goal against Washington the other night. Out-muscled Matt Niskanen from the blue line in and beat Copley with a sick shot. He's been good in camp. Doing exactly what they want/need him to do. Think they want him to spend a year in the AHL but he's probably getting called up at some point.

 

Gauthier, Roy, Kuokkanen, Necas, Saarela

A lot of potential in the prospect pool

 

The GM or one of the assistants usually visits them a few times a year. Francis goes to the WJC and Worlds every year to catch up with players in the tournament. Canes also seem to do more scouting in Finland/Sweden than most teams. Seems like half of their picks are from there.

 

Lucas Wallmark is another guy to watch for. Dark horse to make the team this year, but he ranked really high in AHL scoring and he's been awesome as a PK/bottom-six player in the preseason. Scored a really nice shorthanded goal against Edmonton last night.

 

Saarela never develops into even a 4th liner in NHL 18 so we can go ahead and cross him off this list.

 

I'd love gauthier to be up soon.
