I'd say New Jersey has a more promising future than Colorado. At the very least they have a direction

 

I think once Colorado gets a gm, then we'll see lol also they have a new coach, not that there's much faith in that but we'll see. If tocchet does well they'll probably hire away another front office guy from the pens haha

 

Jersey definitely has more of a future and probably more room for him to move up on D. It's just not that much of an upgrade.

I'd love to be wrong and see something come of him but history of similar deals says different.

 

Butcher could be Mike Mottau 2.0 for all we know, but NJ needed to round out their roster. Would rather take a chance on Butcher or someone with upside instead of signing another Kyle Quincey. They really didn't have much options.
