Edzo takes a lot of shit for both the national and Chicago broadcasts but you never wanna see this. Hopefully they caught it early

 

Reading Drew Magary's Why Your Team Sucks series on Deadspin (the high watermark of sports journalism FWIW) and I would pay a handsome subscription fee for someone to do the same for all the NHL teams.

 

Any new NHL teams on the athletic I don't know about?

 

None yet, but this is from a Bloomberg article a few weeks ago (July 24)

So, expansion is coming.

 

So like 8 more teams then, nice. Should have everyone in a few years, maybe sooner considering how awesome their teams and the sites attention are getting.

 

Ryan Lambert tries to but he's terrible and unfunny.

 

Does anyone want to join a dynasty league? I want to start one that's relatively deep and a ton of bench spots for prospects. I also wouldn't mind if anyone with a lot of experience managing these kinds of leagues co-owned it with me.

 

Yeah there is such a thing as too much snark, and it's incredibly annoying

 

I would be down to join (not co-manage) but there is a possibility that I just up and bail on/forget about it at some point.

 

Lol well that would be fine if it was a one season league but bailing in dynasty is probably bad because you're making the team worse by not making pick ups or keeping track and then the next owner will be pissed and have a shit team

 

I'm a huge RL fan, probably my second favorite to read after downgoesbrown. Funny thing is I can't stand his "look at me I'm a heel!" trash but I love his over the top hatred of Canadian national hockey and his devotion to stats, college hockey, and hating the "old time hawkey" crowd.

 

Yeah, he just tries too hard to be funny by being an asshole and fails miserably.

I still follow his personal account on twitter but it's not the same.

 

He only tweets about politics now.

 

Yeah that's my thing too, he is smart enough and good enough of a writer without needing to resort to bad humor. Bummer

 

Haha, yeah. I've had a problem in the past of just bailing when I've had to set a line up every single day on ESPN or whatever. If it's a format where you set it weekly, then cool, I can do that. Daily lineup changes is too much of an ask.

 

Wait, you know you can set up your lineup every day for like the entire season in like 10 minutes right? Lol

 

I very obviously did not lol

 

Spent the week in Ireland and now I've added seeing a Belfast Giants game to hockey must experience list.

 

Well, you can haha you can go to individual days and set the lineups until the end of the season basically
