so Ellis or Ekholm to COL for Duchene now, right?

 

Canes just need to add a C and I think we'll be looking pretty good. Skinner, Aho, Staal, Williams, Lindholm, Rask, Teuvo, Stempniak is a solid top 9. Still one spot open though.

 

my thoughts on every deal today:

they all suck because joe Thornton for one year is a steal

 

Feels like an overpayment... also, where would he fit?

I got a notification saying free agency review and it said Preds are getting deeper while Jets look uninspired.

I laughed at that.

 

Subban: $9 MM AAV
Emelin: $4.1 MM AAV
Josi: $4 MM AAV
Ekholm: $3.75 MM AAV
Ellis: $2.5 MM AAV

ugh I dislike Emelin. He's also a downgrade from any of that top 4

 

I honestly don't know much about him. But I know Nashville did not need another defenseman, one that makes $4m/yr, unless they have big plans.

 

Emelin is super duper average

 

Preds won't be paying Emelin 4M to play on their bottom pairing. He'll be in the top 4, and this therefore allows them to move Ekholm for Duchene.

Obviously.

 

I'm not happy if that's what happens. I love the 4D, but I would LOVE Duchene in this forward lineup.

Curious if they may be trying to flip Emelin to MTL for Galchenyuck. Although this whole time they've been on Duchene.

 

Is there really proof they want to move galchenyuk at all? I thought that was over

 

From a super cheap deal and going back to Pitt last year to 5m Aav, damn

 

I don't know. I just want David Poile to tell me what the hell is happening behind the scenes.
