I think the author of that article must have missed the Cleveland Cavaliers first championship win

Like I get the point of the article and it makes sense, but it's weird to distinguish it as "Because the Eagles won white privilege was exposed"

How about how overexcessive fan celebration through trashing the city is dumb in the first place and compare it to how privileged people view protests/riots about civil rights as inconveniences/barbarism? Idk. Maybe I'm being too picky

I don’t even think fatigue is why our defense struggled second half. We were calling so much zone that Brady was able to get rid of the ball quickly down after down. DL can’t create consistent pressure if he’s got a man open within 2 seconds every play.

 

Our defense was Washed up.

 

Probably trying to protect our DB from more unfair PI calls, knowing that if the game kept moving in that direction, Bouye / Ramsey would get frustrated and either play worse or commit more penalties.

I get it, change it up when you’re getting unfavorable calls, pretty common thing for man-coverage teams to do when they get hit with back to back long PI penalties on drives.

But when it’s Brady you just gotta bite your lip and stick with man to man, make sure your DL gives him less than 3 seconds per play, and trust your secondary as much as you can. Zone defense will never beat that dude.

Norv Turner did another interview. He is saying all the right things. Literally everything I wanted to fix. Scared to get my hopes up though.

 

Seriously. I was THERE. Not one bit of hatred, racist tendencies, overly destructive behavior in Cleveland. The only thing I can think of is people climbing on top of a little trolley because the driver abandoned it due to the crowds. Hell, I had cops cheering on the continued alcohol offerings and food being served at 3 AM... ON A SUNDAY... as they were patrolling the main celebration areas. (Mind you, our bars normally close at 2:30 AM at the latest.)

That writer isn't 100% wrong, but it just seems like a very targeted response. I agree with many of his points, but this issue is more about intelligence of a group than their race.

Hardly the case. Honestly, most of the hatred/racist tendencies have been about police-oriented matters or the Indians name/logo. I cannot legally say that it was Jimmy Haslam in a Pilot Flying J commentary yet, but I will be pasting that everywhere here if we have a reason for him to get Sterling'd out of the Sadness.

In terms of the general population, I would say that's not true. I'm assuming you're just generalizing on how people see Ohio, but the highly-populated city areas of Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati are completely different. We had the RNC and the city just became a ghost town for actual Clevelanders. Cuyahoga County, which is pretty much the main Cleveland area voted almost 66% Democratic. The rest of the state might be a little disappointing there, but Cleveland is much more progressive that what people might think.

 

I mean, there are huuuuuuuge income inequality/institutional racism issues but we probably don't need to dive into that here.

I have nothing actually against Ohio. They produced the National. That's good enough for me. More than I can say about Florida.
