When I made the comment yesterday that the Eagles have the best defensive line in the league and have the tools to do what it will take to beat Brady, I didn’t detail it too much.

This article does a superb job at doing that.

 

It was clear that all the pressure early from JAX rattled Brady. If PHI can match that all game, they can definitely win. But it will also be an ugly ass 13-10 kind of win

Also, that's not counting Colvin/Telvin/Jack being able to completely shut down all outside options. They'll get the pressure. The key is can they contain their backs.

 

Well just like that article states, Philly has incredible depth (depth that has performed well all year) wherein Jacksonville is very talented but lacks depth hence the 2nd half dropoff.

Also, I don't see any way this is a 13-10 game. I was convinced that the game this past weekend was going to be but I have no doubt there will be points scored on both ends.

I think this is a 31-28, 34-27 type game. Brady is Brady, they will get points regardless of the insane depth the Eagles have on the DL. Pats Run D can also be had up the middle (not so much on the edges) and if the Eagles have early success running the ball, that should open up everything else.

 

Jacksonville literally has better depth than Philly.

But it doesn't actually lack depth lol. How on earth are you going to say our pass rush unit lacks depth when our back-up end has more sacks on the year than your leader in sacks?

This is such an absurd thing. Our back-up has more sacks than your LEADER in sacks.

 

because pass rush isn't solely based on sacks? Listen, it's a stupid argument. Jacksonville's DL disappeared in the second half, we saw that. We know that.

The Eagles may have this happen in the Super Bowl, that's currently an unknown. Perhaps we can revisit this and I'll amend afterwards if it happens. The argument here in this article is where the Eagles might be able to succeed where other teams have failed for four quarters.

Jacksonville has better depth and can't sustain drives enough to keep from gassing it.

1) Philadelphia has ALWAYS been and will ALWAYS be an Eagles city over the other three major sports. That is just the way it is.

Umm....if the Sixers make it to the NBA FInals, I imagine there will be plenty of celebrating in the streets....to the extent of what there was with the Eagles? Absolutely not but that's because the priority in that city goes 1) Eagles ...................................2-4) Sixers/Phillies/Flyers in whatever order you want to place them in.

 

For that reason, I do think Philly's depth will end up being more helpful than JAX's was

 

Oh yeah 100 percent. But it's not because they are deeper or more talented on the line but because their coach has a brain and they have a serviceable offense.

For real though, Fowler having more sacks on the season than Graham is insane.
