Watson definitely won't win

 

Go Pats! I do feel bad for Bortles, seems like a great guy and he played the game of his life.

I've never been unhappier about making a correct prediction.

The Jaguars coaching staff were scared in the end. They got too conservative with the play calling in the second half and Bortles' rhythm was thrown off by it. Running on 1st and 2nd down all the time is not a recipe for success when the Patriots are doing a pretty good job of stopping the run. Should have let Bortles throw more and if you lose like that, people will just say "they had Blake Bortles."

But now people can't even blame it on him. It's on the coaching staff and a little bit on the defense. What a shame.

 

I almost want the Eagles to win. They’re an easier matchup than the Vikings at home and having a bet with my college friends who are Eagles fans will be a blast.

Also, we can't forget about the refs this game. Whenever I see the "When you play the Pats, you also play the Refs" joke, I tend to roll my eyes. But one penalty on the Pats all game? ONE?!?!?

 

Yeah, the Jags almost winning that game is good enough for me. It's really hard to win a game when the refs and NFL don't want you to but we came damn close.

I mean, the refs actually were god awful.

The blame lies with Jacksonville. But the refs are obviously favoring the Pats.

 

Eh yeah they weren’t great but I don’t like blaming the officials one way or the other unless it’s on a game changing play at the end of the game. They had nothing to do with Jacksonville having fewer than 50 rushing yards in the second half.

They had something to do with stopping three drives by not calling PI. And they had something to do with calling zero holding penalties on New England despite obvious offenses, especially on the last play of the game. But it's also purely coincidental that they celebrated with the Pats on a TD and congratulated them. Also a coincidence that this always happens to whoever plays the Pats.

 

Yeah I’ve watched every Pats game since 1996 when I was 4. I’ll duck out of this thread since I’m not going to win anyone over.

Yeah, Jags lost that game and their OC should be fired. But the officiating and commentating was unacceptable and clearly biased.

Commentating? Thought that was pretty neutral or Jacksonville leaning with all the Romo “oooooh boy”s whenever the Jags got the better of New England. I actually do really like Bortles

 

The commentator was literally jubilant and started talking about how great it is to see them win what

Didn’t really hear that but it’s cool. I understand why everyone hates New England, same reason I hate the Yankees. I’m not trying to gloat or start anything.

Edit: I mean “it’s cool” genuinely. Most Pats fans annoy me but I can’t help being a fan of the team I grew up on. If the Jaguars won I’d have wanted them to win the whole thing

Yeah. It’d be a pretty solid hire. And we know they’ll waste a draft pick on some mini scat back that won’t play a down.
