Motherfucker who told you they were engineered to be safe? Not a god damn thing is engineered to be safe it's engineered to break and make people giving people money more money.

For real though, my grandfather worked with bridges, they aren't designed to be safe.

when that bridge collapsed in Minnesota like 10 years ago, I was on that thing a few months earlier

People are terrified of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. They actually offer a shuttle service for it. It's never collapsed, but there's always a ton of accidents on it.

Yeah I drive that same bridge almost everyday to and from work. It is also only a few miles from us bank stadium too

you should see the exorbitant amounts of money cities like Jacksonville / areas like Maryland spend on bridges.

It's a really weird exception because the US transportation budget is only 2% of our disposable budget and it's been deteriorating otherwise.... but for some reason we don't play when it comes to building and maintaining ridiculous bridges for not that much traffic haha.

That one actually is really scary cause it crosses like FIFTEEN MILES of water hahaha. You are for real stuck there for awhile and so is all the traffic if there's an accident. At least they split up the opposite lanes of traffic into separate bridges, so it's not like you have to face oncoming traffic.

I used to live there but I only crossed that bridge when I drove up to New Jersey or Philly. Not really anything interesting in eastern Maryland aside from a few shitty overcrowded beaches

Omg if the Browns hire Ben "Slant route on every play" McAdoo as their offensive coordinator, that would be the most priceless bit of misery.

  10. I’m probably going to make the Philly fans in here mad with this, but why are the Eagles and their fans so offended about being labeled as “underdogs” in the playoffs? I mean, I get believing that you can still win despite not having Wentz. But it’s not hard to figure out why “experts” are picking other teams to win. In the playoffs the team with the best QB wins MOST of the time. This year has been quite the outlier though.

This isn’t directed toward Philly fans in here. I just keep seeing articles and TV clips of fans saying they aren’t getting any respect. Well, when you go from league MVP to Nick Foles the perception of your team and chances of winning a title change. It’s not a disrespect to your team or season.

It’s insane how fast the internet reacted to memes about the accident already. Haha

  14. Only bridge in Jax I know is the St Johns one. Just because my dad lives very close to it.

And? Why do you think they spend so much money?

You don't spend money constantly doing nothing to the thing you did correctly haha

  16. The Browns hiring McAdoo is so hilarious. Worst team in the league keeps their HC and then hires the second worse team's HC as their OC. It sounds made up.

I'm glad we finally got back to talking about cities. Comes around way too infrequently.

I lived with a Civil Engineer for a few years while he was working on one of the bridges in Boston. The whole experience blew my mind.

Bridges can sometimes indicate water or mountains and I like both of those things. But also I hate them and that one in Louisiana can go pound the fucking sand.

I watched Big Little Lies a few weeks ago and they have so many scenes of driving over that bridge in Big Sur, gave me so much anxiety
