That seems high for an ok starting TE, or has he been really held back by bad QB play?

edit: I guess $7mil/yr is the going rate for guys like Fleener/Rudolph/Gresham/etc

 

He's decent/somewhat reliable in the passing game and great at blocking

 

Now my question is why is everyone but Hopkins getting an extension

The weird part is that Friel is probably completely correct; think of how hard Ray Rice's wife fought to cover everything up....you have take the original statements as probably closer to the truth before all the spin begins (and in this case, going both ways).

The real question is why it takes the NFL 5x as long as it should to do anything. Deflategate took way too damn long. Martavis Bryant took comically long to clear for preseason; hes not yet cleared for Week 1. The Zeke thing took 13 months and got announced 3 weeks before the season...If they can turn around an appeal in 2-3 weeks, why did the investigation need to take a year? And why is none of this on a prescribed timeline?

I get the strong feeling Goodell is trying to leverage as much as possible on players to set up the 2020 CBA talks (where players focus on stripping him of conduct powers, and the owners in turn try and get revenue back in exchange), and its super fucked up
