I didn't mean it that way. I meant now that he has a bigger school and more resources he won't bring Leach and get someone better than that caliber.

They fact it would be cruel to make any interim go coach in Tuscaloosa for their first game in charge is the only reason I think it hasn’t happened. But still. A coachless team would achieve the same end result in that away game right now.

Guys here in Seattle were speculating that possibility of Scott Frost taking the Nebraska job and then Leach potentially replacing him at UCF since Leach has a house (and prefers to live) in Key West.

Obviously UCF is closer to that than Pullman, WA lol.

Fuck Mike Leach. But I guess whatever I'll tolerate him in Orlando. Will never want him to stay but his system would do fine in that division. Scott Frost in Nebraska is too perfect for me to be that upset about my school losing him haha.

The local radio guy who was bringing this scenario up (Ian Furness) is very plugged in with WSU athletics but I still think it was nothing more than spitballing. I doubt Leach goes anywhere the more I think about it. He will probably get a pay bump to stay.

I think they'd just make their d coordinator their head coach if he abruptly left just to keep him

I don't know why anyone would empty their banks for mike leach lol they aren't that good

They've won 17 games the last two years, another 6 this year (with probably another 2-3 on the table). That would put them at 22-25 wins in three years. To say they "aren't that good" when the program was in the dumps and is now winning 8 games a year is kind of disingenuous. It's all relative.

I mean, Wazzu won 8 games or more only four times since 1995 and only 10 times in their CFB Reference history which dates back to 1929. This is a truly shitsville program. Good lord I forgot how bad they have almost always been.

Also, Mike Leach is an awful dude but man is he perfect for programs like these.

He is perfect for Washington State, agreed. But also Mike Leach is not very good. He is in the perfect sized program in the perfect place in the perfect conference. He would be unemployable in the SEC or Pac-12.

Agreed. Perfect coach for programs with limited resources compared to their brethren.

If Butch Jones still holds a job in the SEC, I don’t see why Leach couldn’t.

Ole miss is probably gonna have an opening too, he'd be perfect at some of those jobs. If Baylor didn't have major charges he'd probably have left last year.

UCF can do all they want but coaches will always use schools that size as launching pads. Nature the biz unfortunately.

While you're right, no one had UCF being the second best team in Florida this year haha.
