So uhm....Nebraska just hired Bill Moos (Washington State AD) for the same position. Mike Leach is coming to the land of corn.

 

His last name is... moos

He also said he wasn’t a good recruiter last week lol. Apparently he’s just bad at everything.

 

If Chip Kelly is the UCLA head coach next year, they win the Pac-12S going away.

There is no way to spin Mike Leach being a better hire than Mike Riley. But hey, anything to appease the whining fans.

Nooooo, I never said that. I think he's an amazing college coach. Don't call me that.

I just have reserve for how people view him these days, I'm not sure there aren't a list of other great candidates who would love to have that job and aren't semi-washed up from failed pro coaching. All in all I think it's a great hire from most on the outside but I just think it's a great job and they should go through the process and see who else they can get.

Recruiting has nothing to do with it, ucla will get good classes regardless.

I think it was a weird thing regarding like him being super duper old school (the guy took hiatus from a multi million dollar job to raise cattle) and knight wanting to basically go all out new school. He's definitely a weird guy but he's there to figure out if Riley is the guy more than anything else. I doubt the huskers want much else, they seem to always be doing relatively well in recruiting circles for what they are. Just mo on that one.

 

Yea, the story about him raising cattle is badass. haha He must not have a big beef with Nike anymore. He apparently signed a big contract with them at WSU. Hopefully he has a good eye for coaching, though. However, I hope being in Lincoln he can finally draw a bigger coach than Leach, if he's not in favor of keeping Riley.

 

Idk about a bigger coach, it's not like leach was a big name. I believe he was there when they hired Kelly as oc tho...

 

A “large name” coach was never going to Pullman, WA to begin with and if Leach goes, there won’t be one coming.
