i know USC is good but maybe Stanford isn't thattt good this year? I guess we'll see. They'll probably beat ucla handily in two weeks and get mora fired.

 

Ronald Jones II should be considered the Heisman contender on USC, not Sam Darnold.

 

Brian Kelly is a prick, but to say he's a shitty coach is to ignore, literally, 20+ years of incredible success as a head coach.

 

20 and incredible are both huge stretches.

Kelly might actually be the most overrated long-term coach.

 

Stanford is lacking on the DL and that showed yesterday. Stanford is still a very good football team and they will be as long as Shaw is there.

 

He started in 1991.

18-35-2 at Grand Valley (76% winning percentage)
19-16 at CMU (54% winning percentage; Not great though I would also point towards the 27-13 mark Butch Jones had with Brian Kelly's players after Kelly left
34-6 at Cincinnati (85% winning percentage)

Not sure what else he has to do. Hell, he's even 60-32 at Notre Dame (65%).

Over his entire coaching career he's 231-89-2 which is 72% winning percentage. His average is dragged down by the CMU stop. He clearly built a consistent contender there. Him and Butch Jones went 46-29 which includes his two build up years. People make it seem like he's been Charlie Weiss.

 

I don't think Notre Dame hired a coach and should ever be happy with a 65% WP, though.

It's Notre Dame. 65% should not qualify as good enough there.

 

Why would your response to "he's overrated" be the most surface level argument possible?

"Luke Falk is overrated"

You've got a historic program that's grown stagnant. Something has to change. He's had two great years with Notre Dame, one of which was immensely overrated, the other one saw them lose every big game despite having an offense full of NFL starters.

 

Both of those were bad fires, especially Richt

 

If your end game isn't winning, sure.

At a certain point, you've got to do something.

 

Question for season ticket holders of other teams: do you have an issue with a mass exodus at halftime of people rushing to beer gardens and then missing half (or more) of the third quarter what seems like every single game regardless of opponent and score?

Shit irritates the hell out of me. Why they aren't just selling beer in the stadium is beyond me.

 

It was never like that at Clemson games. Everyone stays in their seat, but mainly because everyone that wants to drink is already drunk from tailgating.
