The CristoBALLIN era is upon us

 

Pretty bizarre that Mullens essentially let the current recruiting class and current players dictate the hire. If the UW MBB team did that, Lorenzo Romar would still be there (thank fuck that didn't happen).

I'll be interested more in the staff he assembles because you already know Leavitt is gone. Big Joe stay?

 

It's not 100% that leavitt is gone, he would actually be a co DC at FSU. If they could bump his pay he might stay. I think they should've decided by yesterday cause it messed up recruiting this weekend but yes mullens is awful and it wasn't an easy decision. It could easily go from a 10 win year to getting fired in two more but they clearly didn't have many options because everyone good was gone. Lots of factors, who knows what happens but hey people like him lol

 

I like the hire of not only for the fact he'll be able to keep most of the recruiting class intact.
Doesn't hurt that the entire team loves the guy and he comes from the Saban coaching tree,
really just glad we didn't go out and hire Kiffin or Sumlin, especially Kiffin lol

 

My guess is they think it's their best chance to keep most of that staff, maybe they really liked sumlin but weren't sure if they could keep half the guys they wanted. They have like five guys there I think will be HCs in the next five years, these are things that happen when you assemble a great staff.

Kiffin is hilarious, hope he gets the wildcats job next season when rich rod gets fired lol

 

FIU fans on reddit are making me feel even better about this, on his time as HC there:

"While it wasn't literally a trailer, for the first couple of years the offices for football were located in the Basketball Arena. Indoor volleyball practice courts were used as unit meeting rooms. The video room was set up in a converted shower room that was originally apart of the basketball team's locker room. The d-line would meet in the locker room space.

Having seen him work first hand, that guy worked a miracle at FIU. He's a top notch recruiter, and his player's love him. Oregon got a really good one here."

Damn apparently he recruited TY Hiton to FIU and would have gotten Antonio Brown but AB got into a fight on his visit and they rescinded his offer.

 

To be fair leavitt was in the same situation, he just choked some kids and got kicked out

Edit: apparently heyward is staying, I think he was offered a better job with the beavs and turned them down. I guess that's how bad it is there.

I still wouldn't count out leavitt staying, they can make him AHC if they need to. Like I said, taggart wants him and Elko to be co DCs and that's a lesser job.

Woodie will also probably go with taggart, which is a bummer but he's a WT guy. No.1 recruiter in the PAC 12 this past year apparently. Also Kelly who is a big deal in other ways is likely gone.

holding on to Leavitt would be huge, I'm sure they'll be offering him a nice pay bump
