The playoffs aren't structured where the only teams deserving are conference champs, though. Its best teams.

I'd be down for a huge playoff of just FBS conference champs, though.

I think we all like the idea of UCF playing Cinderella in the CFP and pulling a Boise State, but then the reality of the situation gets in the way of our dreams.

winning their games is what matters. Its not their fault they were against lesser opponents.

a four team system is simply too small to include two teams from the same conference

Winning is what matters at the end of the day, sure. But if you want to actually have a discussion, more goes into it than "well they won so eat Drew's ass." It's how they won, who they won against, the context of the win matters when comparing teams. UCF has never once looked capable of competing with Alabama.

    Best four teams should go.

  7. The defense is overmatched Taylor’s been shut down and Hornibrook sucks

To an extent, it is their fault. Their AD made the schedule.

I think you just admitted the entire fault of your argument. You're more interested in having lesser teams to spread out the conference love.

But, for serious, you guys should put on a stream of the NJCAA heart of texas bowl. These broadcasters just sound like a couple guys shooting the shit about the good old days with massive southern accents. They just spent like four minutes reminiscing about Hal Mumme's coaching days.

season is far too short to accurately determine the "best four teams" with any degree of certainty

its easier to determine the best team from a conference though. and then you can pick four of those

the defense that forced two turnovers already? got itttttt

hornibrook has had more drops than over/under/way off passes. do you just watch the scoreboard changes and draft your narrative off that or do you actually watch the game?

Three of the best eight teams in the country play in the SEC so imagine the conniption we’d be having around h the if it was an 8 team playoff and both at-larges were Bama and Auburn.

Just enjoy the wild ride of college football.

The shorter the season length in sports, the less reliable wins and losses are. Which is why eye test and underlying statistical metrics are very important.

Naw wins and losses are still what matter. That is what makes sports fun and interesting. Every game is vital, and whole seasons can swing on a single bad game or missed play.

I love math and statistics and using stuff like sabermetrics to help better understand what is going on in a game. But if you start valuing that stuff over wins and loses you lose the soul of sports.

Sometimes the best team doesn't win the game. Sometimes the best team doesn't win their division. More often than not, the best team doesn't win the title at the end of the season. But that's what makes sports interesting and fun.
