More points than 2014! On the right track

The problem with your argument seems that you are only worried about the impressive, big wins and disregarding everything else. Pounding the snot out of mediocrity is hard and impressive, too. Not losing to a 5 win team is impressive.

Hmm, I don’t see anyone making that same argument for Wisconsin...

That's not my fault. But if they win they're in, right?

Guess this defense doesn't want to be in the playoff.

Damn. Only on pace for 56 pts.

They need to be undefeated and a conference champion to be in. Alabama could get in without either of those things. Surely you see the difference.

Right... that's their job. But as an outsider, we use the information at hand to form opinions and we don't just look at W/L records...

The point of analysis is to use logic and have a thought process.

If you don't see a difference in talent level between Wisconsin and Bama, then I don't know what to tell you. Records aside, we can agree that Alabama is the more talented team, no?

If they lose, they'll have just as many losses as Alabama and just as good of an argument for being in the game

That’s not what the argument is about though?

Yeah, one has proven to be the better team for years while the other has, for the same amount of time, proven to be a upper level, not elite, team that skates by on weak schedules.

going '"durrr Alabama good because they're Alabama" is not using logic and having a thought process

is the discussion not about the best teams for the playoffs?

The debate is about body of work this season only. Many teams in college football are more talented than Wisconsin, but that’s not the argument.

So you admit you're letting previous years performances effect who you think should make the playoffs this year?

I agree. Thankfully, that's not what I'm doing and that couldn't be more obvious.

What I'm doing is saying I've watched every game both teams have played and they have played a similar caliber opponent, Miami has struggled throughout their schedule and lost to a losing team, Alabama only struggled against their top two opponents, and we're calling a 14 point victory a struggle on their part.
