We reach for the longest shadow

Beat Bama once, which is better than a lot of coaches being considered can say.

Oh, I'm not a Sumlin fan by any means. I think he's junk just like Les. Sorry I'm not jerking off your boy Les like you want me to.

the thing everyone points back to for Sumlin was a season where he won a lot of games with a QB he didn’t recruit or develop. he’s been 8-5 every season since that guy left. he’s the definition of mid.

this was Gus until this season. It's amazing what having a decent QB can do for you.

"How is a guy with a national title, two conference titles, three divisions titles, and a 77.8 win percentage better than a guy with zero titles of any kind, who has only once won more than eight games?"

I feel like more of Auburn's success this season is from having a great defense.

During October/November, it's been both. We don't beat Bama without an accurate QB. That is really the main difference between this year and last, QB consistency.

Am I missing something? Les and Sumlin are way better hires than Schiano or Doeren - Either would be a nice rebound from the nightmare it's been to this point.

Les Miles's worst season was Kevin's Sumlin's second best lol.

and where was gus before this year? on the hot seat. he wasn’t any more safe then sumlin. difference is he proved himself this year and sumlin didn’t.

Funny, considering Stidham wanted to go to A&M, but Sumlin wouldn't offer because he was scared it would run off Kellen Mond.

that brings up another good point. more people should be talking about the kyle allen/kyler murray disaster

Resurrecting a post from a few days ago ... but Les Miles would not be a good hire?

Well, I was thinking more in the lines of Mike Gundy. Offensive minded. To Tennessee's credit, they gave it a shot.

I think you're over estimating Gundy's ability to drop 60 pts on SEC teams.

Mike Gundy over Les Miles for coaching reasons is hysterical.

Dude, there's a reason no team in the country has coveted Les Miles since he got canned at LSU.

Of course there is. But that doesn't mean he isn't a good coach haha. And that doesn't mean Mike Gundy is better than him haha

Look around. Nothing is clear. ;-)

But, yea, that's what I am hoping the inactivity means.

Nebraska is my favorite sports team, so I am just super anxious.

Going back through the thread, I wanna join in on the first memory discussion.

Funny enough, my first real favorite player/memory was Scott Frost. I remember watching "the catch" vs Missouri to stay undefeated. My dad was working and I called him up all excited, screaming at him.

Got damn, just let me have Scott Frost already...

Also, I was a pretty good Tennessee fan with Peyton Manning, too. Growing up living in my grandparents house for a time, my grandpa would always talk about Tennessee and Nebraska. That 1997 game was a tough time in the house.

i tore a hole in the fabric of time Moderator

My first college football memory was attending the 95 Citrus Bowl between Tennessee and Ohio State. (Or was it Northwestern? I went to 95 and 96 and those were the two opponents.) Peyton’s freshman year.
