I find Leach a much better fit for Arkansas if they can't land Gus.

Who should FSU pursue, if not Taggart or Fuente? They’re two of the best rising coaches in the country. I don’t see any better options unless someone is slipping my mind. Also, what does Taggart have to do to get respect? He’s built up two different programs and happened to leave right before their success was noticed (though he did have a 10 win season at USF).

As far as how good of a job is FSU, I view all the jobs like this:

-is there a lot of money behind the school?
-is there an extended history of success on the field?
-are they in a P5 conference?

A ton of schools fit that criteria. I don’t think jobs should really be compared to one another because the coach makes the job look good. Who thought Bama was a good job 10 years ago? It was an impatient fan base that clings to football history from before they were born as to reasons why they deserve to be the best. Enter nick saban and now that’s the best job in the country. Oregon wasn’t a desireable job until the class that Joey Harrington was in during the early 2000s that elevated the program and then was taken to new heights in the late 2000s/early 2010s.

Hell even FSU was kind of a mess before they could get Jimbo in as the main guy. He gets in, lands Winston, wins a title.

The perception that a lot of jobs are better than others is just kind of bunk, imo. If Tennessee hit a home run in the coaching search (lol) and started winning 11 games a year, we would call that a desirable spot. This coaching search not withstanding, there isn’t a ton that separates it, imo, from Texas or any other major university with history and money.

I just want to know the candidates that are better than Taggart and Fuente.

I think he does. He only took that FAU job because he wants to be a HC at a top program again. USC was his dream job. He said that from the beginning. He didn’t contact them, they contacted him only after being turned down by several candidates. It was rough when he left, but he loves Tennessee. Didn’t he name his son Knox?

I would disagree slightly. I think FSU is in that top tier of jobs because endless resources, recent history of success, long history of success, in one of the 3 best states for recruiting. Not much more a coach could want.

    He absolutely wants this job.

By the way, is it just me, or does it feel like Lane is on a different radio show every single day? I feel like this is his way of being like "Hey, don't forget I'm still around. I'll listen to any offer."

I mean, yeah, Kiffin's last stop is not with FAU. I don't want to be delusional about it, but this is some lengthy troll, maybe even flirt game he is playing with UT. He supposedly named his son Knox after Fort Knox, but come on now..

Jimbo needs to hurry up and let people know what he's doing. Losing these commitments is really starting to look bad.

It gives me great memories, but I don’t really care about the lions. Joey is the first non big ten player I latched on to and, thus, also became a mild Oregon fan, which persists to this day. The giant Joey billboard to push for his Heisman push in NY was awesome. It was the birth of the Phil Knight Oregon, really.

...I said the FSU job is an elite, top tier job and you said you don’t disagree with that after saying you think it’s an overrated job. I am confused.

I think it's a top tier job but I started to second guess it because I thought someone who's already in a winning d1 program would leave for it because it was so elite
