living in Nashville is cool but i mean, literally other than the 3 years under Franklin, vanderbilt is the very definition of bottom feeder. No 10 win season in the history of the program. Prior to Franklin only 4 bowl appearances in school history.

 

Vandy has a much better location working in their favor.

Report out that Haslam (top donor that basically owns most of Knoxville) supposedly picked Schiano and bribed Currie with funding the majority of the new stadium renovations to make it happen.

 

This is the most I've talked about the Tennessee volunteers in my life I think. You guys are on the map!

Also, in regards to @bigmike’s point: we’re no longer a destination job. No way in this time of parity for us to be in the current state.

But we should be. Second most profitable program in the nation despite a decade of sheer uselessness with some of the best facilities in the nation. Turn us around and you’re set for life. Just look at how Butch was treated before we realized players talents buoyed him and not that his coaching was bringing the results.

I’m not under some illusion we’re an alabama or an Oklahoma. But we should easily be one of the top 20 jobs in the county with the combination of our money and history—which makes plenty of teams what they are after down periods. We’re not far removed from alabama being a laughing stock. The fact we’re not perceived as a big job goes a long way to land at the feet of the last two ADs.

 

They aren't letting him come right out and say it, but it sounds like Kerryon Johnson will play in the SEC Championship.

This is idiotic, and this is why there is a “UT fans are upset because they didn’t get their guy” narrative that exists.

I will say that the Vols fans in here (unless I'm forgetting some) have been super rational and it's awesome. Actually, the majority (or all) of this thread is super rational about the expectations of different schools. I just get so annoyed when I am out and around town and Michigan fans feel like they're owed the world -- not trying to pick on U of M fans, just deal with them the most IRL; I dealt a lot with it in Kalamazoo when Fleck left for Minnesota, too. "Why wouldn't he want to stay, he's making $800K and look at everything we did for him!"

tl;dr sports fans in general suck, me included haha.

 

as an MSU fan, U of M fans are the worst I've dealt with by far, obviously I deal with them the most as well but man, they think they should be undefeated every year
