They're going to end up with an AD from a 1-AA school and Jeff Fisher.

This will probably come across as me being a prick but it's not what I intended. That said, this Tennessee job hunt is exactly what I mean when I say fans of major universities with a history of success need to temper expectations in this era of football. For fans, Tennessee is a destination job; however, that's simply not the case (outside of someone like Tee Martin or likewise with major ties to the university).

No decent coach is going to want to go to Tennessee now after this debacle. Get a decent lower level coach and be done.

I don't get why a coach would want to go to Oregon State, personally. Rice is at least in Texas.

Is Oregon State the worst job in the country? I mean, it's probably the worst P5 job in the country, but even talking mid-major schools, is it the worst?

I don’t know that reacting that quickly, in real-time, to what your fanbase wants on Twitter is a good thing. Obviously the fans will love it, because now you’ve given them a position of power. That could be very bad for the future.

Haha nah they're still more desirable than i'd say all mid-major schools. I mean remember, Washington State was a perpetual laughing stock for a long time before the past few years

It's the least desirable because it's a P5 job. If it was in the C-USA or MWC, it would be a decent gig honestly.

Instead they're a team that gets the same amount of respect (zero) but now they win games via gimmicks led by a human slug.

Haha sure, but my point is that programs can be turned around. Regardless of how you feel about washington state, they're a much better team/program than they were 4 years ago.

    Oh yeah, absolutely.

Also, I'd take Oregon State over Kansas. If I'm gonna win 4 games in 4 years and lose my job, I damn sure don't wanna be in Kansas doing it.

ooof i forgot about Kansas. Yeah, that's obviously the answer to our question 'worst p5 job in the country"...by a mile too.

Oregon State has to be the worst possible landing spot in power conferences.

Kansas is really the only program that’s in a deeper hole.

The fact that UT may have to keep Currie in the event of a Schiano lawsuit makes the story even more hysterical than it already is.

Kansas was No. 2 in the top 25 as recent as a decade ago, at least. But yeah, forgot about them.

    Vanderbilt.

There are a lot of weak jobs across the country. I dont think Oregon state is worse than many of them. Just gotta find the right guy? It's not a 'hell no stay away' job yet.

kinda makes you wonder why Arizona state fired Todd graham...not sure what kind of expectations that school is going for. Consistent BCS bowl/champ contender? Damn thats a high goal. Graham's brought a pretty decent level of consistency there.

I don't think anyone really understands how close Vanderbilt has been to competing. Their QB is one of the worst in the league.

Vanderbilt was pretty great under James Franklin. They are far from a bottom feeder of an SEC job, and you get to live in Nashville.
