did he? from what i read there's an indication that he may have seen something, said something once, and nothing then. He was pretty low on the totum pole at that point, not sure if id personally brush him with "he covered up child rape".

I don’t know what to tell you. If he knew about it, which he reportedly did, then he didn’t do enough to stop it. That’s covering it up in my book.

 

Now there are “reports” that the deal is off and Currie is losing his job for this. Acceptable.

vols fan spend a lot of money, even in super shitty seasons. that hasn’t changed. but clearly this would change that. which shouldn’t be the factor getting them to change their minds but if it’s working this time it’s working.

 

Did Meyer hire Schiano or was Schiano already at Ohio State when that whole reveal took place? If Meyer hired him after the fact he should have gotten just as much shit as Tennessee is getting now.

 

Already hired there before the testimony. It came out in 2016.

That referring to the AJ Johnson (and one other guy I can’t remember) incident? Weren’t they immediately kicked off the team when allegations came out?

I don’t remember Butch ever receiving blame for that, but I may be wrong. I was working 60+ hours a week the entire year that went down.

 

i agree with that but there’s also a difference between hiring someone with those facts readily available and something taking place while a coach is already on staff with buyouts to worry about

 

Ohio State students now calling for Schiano to resign if Twitter is right. They not have internet in Columbus to find these facts out before now?

 

The phone records came out that he had made some calls, reportedly in an attempt to cover it up. Also, the Drae Bowles situation, ya know the whistleblower, was very strange. Butch actually made a comment that Bowles had “betrayed the team”

I don’t disagree with this, but wrong is wrong no matter how you slice it. Rape, and any ensuing cover up of it, outweighs how much money you owe a person in every way.

 

Oh yeah, I remember that. God, I’m so glad Butch is gone.

 

Drae Bowles ended up at Chattanooga because of the whole situation, and that’s a shame, because in the end all he did was the right thing.
