Ohhhh, usually coaches leave before the bowl game but maybe this will be different. I think if he goes to Nebraska there's a higher chance he coaches it cause it's more respectable but not to uf or the vols.

I think you guys massively over estimate how much coaches fear nick saban. No one is taking/not taking a job based on saban and coaches are among the most competitive and egotistical people around. They WANT to be the one that beats saban.

 

Idk I'd rather dominate a division and have a chance at a playoff spot than worry about the one loss to Saban and how it'll looks effect those chances, I'm sure some think that way as well

 

You aren't getting that playoff spot. You've got Meyer in one corner, Saban in another, Pac-12 cannibalizing itself, and "No Defense Big 12"

I think the PAC/Big 12 teams are interchangeable.

 

I doubt that's the line of thinking here. It's likely more that he's comfortable with the landscape of the Pac 12 more than anything else. He's never coached in the south, so the unfamiliarity is something he can be picky about. These elite coaches think they can go turn around shit teams in the NFL, what makes people think they'd be scared to play one of their peers?

 

Idk man, there could be two different mindsets? Job stability is something important, especially when you have a family. I'd want the easier, more stable job that I know I could do. It's better than getting paid a little more and then being canned because I couldn't beat Saban two years in a row. It has nothing to do with solely not thinking you can't beat a guy, there are other factors but when you look at the past history of the job and seeing what would keep you around... it's less favorable

Tennessee is Bama’s permanent east rival. Which is something that was mentioned but not explained, @Whatjuliansaid. So we’re the only team who might have to face Saban twice in one year (should we ever win the east again). I think that was part of the point.
