I had originally said that I was surprised that Frost was going to be getting 7M AAV because I didn’t use my brain before posting.

But I am surprised at the number, if accurate regardless. 5M a year for Frost and just for comparisons sake, Chris Petersen is getting 4.875 from UW through 2023.

At the time I don't think the Peterson hire was as big, hopefully he'll get a raise sometime soon unless he did recently and I forgot

Scott Frost would make the same amount as Kevin Sumlin. Considering I don't actually know why Kevin Sumlin is paid that much, I'll take that as a win.

That’s how sports contracts are these days though. Take what Player/Coach A makes and get more.

I mean, Chris Petersen was hired four years ago. Tom Herman was hired last year and Frost would make less.

Chris Petersen’s new deal that I was referring to was signed this past April.

He was only making about 3.6 in his initial deal.

Well Willie T knows that he won’t be able to continue to pull highly rated 4-5* kids out of the south which is his territory for more than probably this year (assuming the ones he has committed to Oregon now stick).

If FSU opens up if Jimbo bails and they called Willie, he’s on the first thing smoking out of Eugene.

What? They're likely going to have a top 12 class in his first year. It wouldn't be about that. Money and family, more likely and obviously a much easier job cause of the surroundings and the history of the program.

That is what I am saying...he has assembled a very good class this year but a good chunk of that class is from the state of Florida.

Once he’s out of FL for a year or two, it’s going to become very tough for him to continue to pull high rate recruits from there, especially as Florida/FSU get their shit together and I think he knows it.

Plus he probably spent the last eight months or so in Eugene and is about ready to drive his car into a retaining wall (just as I was when I was there).

If he leaves this year or soon thereafter it’s obviously because he realized he made a mistake leaving the Southeast.

I don't disagree I'm just saying I don't think it's because he's having a hard time getting kids, you're right about his influence in Florida and if he thinks he's gonna keep pulling kids from there he's a loon. You're right, all college towns are in the most beautiful of surroundings :eyeroll:

No one would blame him for taking a better job, I just think "wanting out" and acting as if he thinks he'll never succeed there are weird ways for anyone to look at that. His buyout is easy, if he was that desperate he'd find a better job and be out.

Recent history would suggest leaving Oregon for UCF is a good move.

I've read a bunch of articles this year detailing how much fun Taggart is having. If he leaves it would have to be simply for money purposes as he seems to enjoy the school / atmosphere / players.

I just don't think it's real, some random dude who hardly posts anything said he heard something once and nothing else really credible at all. The rumor is mostly being pushed by beavers fans and some random dude from turkey who has mostly bot followers. Until I see something more legit I'm not gonna bother reading into anything. Also UFs biggest problem seems to be trust, that's why I'm not sure they can get a chip Kelly who got canned twice before not too long ago but ya never know, the frost NU deal isn't official yet.
