Fresno State is back.

 

I miss the days of the Jeff Tedford love fest. There was a time when he helped put a lot of QBs in the league. Glad to see him doing good things at Fresno.

 

Their top end recruiting has been good to really good. It’s their recruiting and team depth that we are seeing negatively impact USC right now. Sanctions, coaches leaving, players transferring, and losing quite a few players from last year to the draft and graduation it’s just hard for them right now. They are just not a deep team and they have to put more on Darnold’s shoulders out of necessity.

 

Tre Bryant done for the year. Bummer.

 

Loved seeing Norte dame kick the shit out of usc that was fun to watch and it knocked them out of the playoff picture which is even better

 

Oh, USC was well out of the playoff picture before that pounding.

 

Stanford sucks.

But if this doesn't show how important Bryce Love is to this team and why he should be in the mix for the Heisman than I don't know what does.

Looks like Bama AND Washington's best OOC win this year is.....Fresno State.

 

Fresno State is good again.

 

You may have said that a few times.....and I would agree. I just don't think if you had told everybody that their best OOC win was going to be Fresno in August.

Well...UW maybe since their OOC stinks but Alabama? Fresno State would stomp FSU right now.

 

If they finish strong, Jeff Tedford should be the AP Coach of the Year after this turnaround.

That team is still really inexperienced and not very talented, but they have a chance to win 9 or 10 games (before a MWC championship and bowl) after going 1-11 in 2016. It's one of the best bounce backs that I've seen in years.

I still won't be shocked if they lose to a few of the teams left on their schedule, but Tedford has them trending in the right direction.

 

Jeff Tedford was supposedly an "advisor" last year at Washington and the offense was insanely good during that time (of course, John Ross was here, so that helped) but since he left before the USC game last year---it's clear that Jonathan Smith stinks and the offense has been pretty meh since.

 

Also, Fresno State is Fresno State good, not college football good. Like, let's not act like they are better than Georgia or Notre Dame haha

 

Did I miss something? Why exactly do people think Fresno State is good?

Look at the Fresno State team from 2015, 2016 and then now and see the quick turn around they've done in such a short period of time under Jeff Tedford.

I don't think anybody here is saying they are better than Bama like I think you are drawing....they aren't that type of good, as CarpetElf said.

 

Like, they are a good team but they aren't a good team for a playoff opponent to say "look at how tough our schedule is." Granted, I wouldn't say Washington should be penalized considering Wisconsin's toughest was BYU and Penn State's was Pittsburgh. But if it comes down to OOC for the final spot, no one is going "well, they played Fresno."

That being said, I am very excited for the resurgence of Fresno State football.
