I was at the Cavs game and was walking to my seat (after grabbing a beer) and when I turned to get into the row where my seat was is when Hayward went down, so I was looking at my seat and not at the court, thankfully. I didn't even see the injury and I was all shook up. The Q became dead silent. Unlike any situation at any sporting event I've ever been to. I immediately saw Wade go down and start praying and I thought Hayward snapped his neck or something (again didn't see the play). Honestly, it still haunts me this morning and I was shook up about it all last night. I felt dirty watching the game after something like that.

Sounds like the good news for Hayward is there was no ligament damage. I don't know if that's been confirmed, but that's what I saw last night. If they are clean breaks, I'm guessing recovery is 6-8 months, but I'm no doctor. If it was breaks AND torn ligaments, could be 10-12 months, maybe even longer.

Boston is probably the Cavs biggest threat, but man, I hope Gordon gets back as fast as possible. Just awful.

As for the Cavs, I mean, it was one game, so hard to overreact or put things into perspective BUT the Cavs need another 3-point shooter in that starting line-up. Especially considering Rose and Wade can't shoot them. I'd personally bring Wade off the bench and start JR (maybe even Korver?) just to get some extra spacing on the floor. Also, for LeBron to put up that statline after missing pretty much the entire preseason is insane. He was also GASSED at the end of the 3rd quarter. I was high on Jeff Green in the preseason, but he looked like an offensive mess yesterday (again, one game...) and I can't stomach watching Shumpert (biggest bonehead play of the night + got TORCHED by Kyrie). Crazy to me too that I guess it doesn't matter who is on the roster, but no large double digit lead in the second half is safe. Cavs just start doing stupid, lazy things when up big.

The thing that worries me with the Cavs is they are going to have chemistry issues and it'll take them a month or two to figure it out and if and when they do figure it out, they'll have to basically start all over again once IT comes back. And again at the trade deadline if and when they trade that Nets pick (and Shump!).

All that said, there is no one in the East who can compete with them, which we all already knew.

The warriors could have the 6th seed and still win the playoffs effortlessly lol

the loss last night is nothing when you consider there will probably only be another maybe 9 or 10 of them all season lol

Talk around Boston is Hayward can be back by late March. So the new gameplan is develop Tatum and Brown, make it into the playoffs, get Hayward back and see what happens.

Aside from Hayward’s horrific injury, opening night was awesome.

Celtics were impressive. Reminded me of when the Bulls had a younger D. Rose and young guys that played hard. I was very impressed by Tatum and Brown. Hopefully they keep up the intensity and aggressiveness.

Like others said. Cavs need another shooter. JR should’ve been closing out that game. I love Rose, but he had no business being in the game the last 3-4 minutes.

CP3 looked bad. I really don’t see why he went to the Rockets. Makes me think they were supposed to get another big name person during the offseason. As soon as he went out, Rockets made a run and Harden took over.

Def not worried about the Warriors aside them always letting teams back into the game. KD really had 8 turnovers?

I can see that given what they say the injury is. Would be great news for him and them.

yeah after witnessing that, any return in less than a year seemed crazy let alone 5 months. but hey, it's not like you're rooting against him. hope he gets back out there as soon as he can.

Yeah. I guess it was more gruesome than it looked. No ligament or blood vessel damage. Clean break according to Mike Gorman, who is a national treasure by the way.

Also Celtics -3 is a terrible line for the game tonight. The Bucks should be able to not only cover, but win that game

Let's not forget, guys, the Cavs are getting a 28 PPG scorer (37% 3 pt shooter) in a few months. So that will solve the problems in the backcourt of not having a deep shooter/scorer.

Can you imagine if the Celtics didn't make the Irving trade and that happened? They'd be going 2-3 months with Al Horford backed by the Rookie/Sophomore team.
