That's what happens when you only put the most popular teams on national tv and the same matchups over and over again. There is nothing remotely interesting about the Knicks to put them on 5+ times a year. Same with the lakers, just because they have Lonzo doesn't mean they should get that many games while actual good teams like Utah and others are lucky to get 1. The NBA says hey let's let the free market decide and then the majority of teams get fucked because they're in small markets and then the league they're literally governed by is like whatevs. If they're not going to look out for them, who is?

Lakers just announced their ad patch on the jersey. Such a sad day. This feels worse than the MLB trying to promote that spider-man movie on first base.

 

The jersey patches really don't bother me. They're pretty unnoticeable.

 

(I think) he's referring to the Lakers already making a killing profit wise, not the fact they are putting on a patch?

 

The lottery reform ideas that are out really suck. They're literally solely punishing the worst teams without helping the bottom half of bad teams much. All they had to really do was distribute some of the percentage of the worst teams to the bottom half of the lottery and give them a greater chance.

 

I’m actually a proud capitalist, but it seems really unnecessary for the Lakers to have a patch. I kinda felt the same when I saw the Celtics patch. It just kinda bums me out on a historical level. The patches are tasteful (for now) but I just worry that more desperate teams will move toward Euro-style jerseys. Based on the revenue sharing data, it seems like the Lakers have been holding up many struggling teams. I suppose this will help too. I felt the same about sleeved jerseys. It just doesn’t sit right with me. I’ll get used to it but never sign off on it.

Will every team have a sponsor patch? I’ll be shocked if the Bulls have a sponsor patch. They’re literally the only team who hasn’t modified their logo or significantly changed their uniforms so it’d be interesting to see if they do anything. The Nike uniforms they announced didn’t have sponsors on them aside from the nike swoosh.

The red, white, and black jerseys Miami have "unveiled" are literally the same ones they've had for the past several years except there is now a nike logo on them. I'm glad their patch is barely noticeable though.
