The sharks numbers just look so depressing on there.

 

I've been avoiding advanced stats for this series, it's so sad haha.

That's the other thing with Murray...I think he's the new number 1 for the future of this team but he really hasn't been tested this post-season. Feel like he's yet to see 30 or 35+ shots a game.

 

I give JR credit for making the moves, but I just can't call them moves that were difficult to make. Not to mention he's still giving away picks like crazy. Though if he wins a cup then you can't really blame him.

Again, I can't really judge JR's performance without bias so I'll probably stop trying.

Hornqvist, Dumolin and Sheary are non essentials?

 

I mean, are we really calling guys like Maata, Sheary, Hornqvist and Dumoulin "non-essentials" in this Cup run? come on now.

 

Hornqvist ya, I think they need him. Dumolin and Sheary, not so much.

 

My dude you're aware that Dumolin has been pulling top pair minutes consistently yeah?

 

Sheary may not be essential just yet, but I'd sure like to keep him. He'll be a star in 2 years.

 

The NHL will be deciding on expansion today. No formal announcement until the 22nd but shit will probably leak.

Lightning didn't renew Steve Thomas' contract as assistant coach and brought on Todd Richards instead. I'm just hoping someone figures out how to make the power play maybe a little less pathetic than it was this season.

Nick Spaling has 2 points in 22 playoff games and 1 of those points came off a empty netter. Deboer loves this dude so much that when he shortens the bench, he still gets ice time.

I don't understand it at all especially when he plays over guys like Wingels, Nieto and Zubrus.

 

I just wanted that specific quote but it basically sounds like Deboer is going to go back to the same lines as yesterday and that just makes me sad.

 

He has the second most minutes of any skater not named Kris Letang?

 

My point is 20 minutes a night is something your average defenseman can do, he's replaceable...it wasn't GMing wizardry on Shero's part to acquire him (though getting rid of Staal for him and what ended up being Pouliot was a win for the Pens).

What the front office in PIT did that is credible is that they don't have any major liabilities on the roster. No Dillons, Polaks, Zubrus, etc types.

 

Right, it's very easy to do in the regular season, it's a bit more difficult to do in say, the cup finals. As we have seen w/ Polak you can't throw any jabroni out on the ice against some of the toughest competition in the NHL and expect them to not only hold their own, but do quite well.
