The rule was put in place to eliminate goals where a guy was blatantly offside by seconds and the refs missed it, not if he was a c..thair offside, or if someone was offside 40 seconds of zone time prior to the goal.

 

It's the "right call", but the offsides rule needs to change.

There's goals where being offside very clearly is advantage to the team. Then there's goals like this. Drouin is still tapping it into a wide open net if he's a quarter step slower into the zone.
