That's a great signing for Toronto.

Winnipeg is going to have to give Jacob Trouba something similar now because of the
    rielly deal.

feel like a lot of the young, blossoming DMen are signed to very fair deals leaguewide

    Rielly- $5 million AAV
    Brodie- $4.65 AAV
    Larsson- $4.16 AAV
    Klefbom- $4.16 AAV
    Klingberg- $4.25 AAV

Faulk at 4.8 AAV is one of the best contracts in the NHL, imo.

  7. McD at $4.7 too.

I didn't even count those guys to be honest since they are already stars

Speaking of Faulk, I really hope we see him with the C on his sweater next year. His end of season media availability showed to me he's ready for it.

    Fun must be always. Prestigious

I know he isn't in the same age range as those guys but having Brenden Dillon locked down for a long while at $3.25 million is super nice.

I think he's a great choice but it seems like they are really grooming JStaal right now (At least in the media). I would be ok with either seeing how Jordan played this year.

@jorbjorb great job advertising the bracket, 34 brackets is decent coming primarily out of one thread!

And, as a Muslim hockey fan, whoever Halaku Akbar is, you're the worst lol.

Thanks man. It makes me more excited to watch the playoffs even though my team didn't make it.

Between Jordan's attitude/body language and his play after Eric was traded, I want him nowhere near the C. I could obviously be wrong, but it seems to me that he doesn't want to be here.

I thought it was Jordan's best year as a Cane, even after Eric was traded. The Nesty/Staal/Lindholm line was dominant. I can see the body language complaint but at this point I think that's just a Staal family trademark, though it is concerning. I don't think his attitude seems nearly as bad as Eric's was perceived.

I would 100% prefer Faulk and think a non-Staal option would be good for the team, but I just don't see it happening. I'd love to be wrong though.

the earth is not a cold dead place.

You call this a homer bracket, and yet don't have your team winning it all. Lameeeee.

Best case scenario is Jordan being here next year, building off of this past season of his, with or without the C.

I love 'em, but I'm trying to be somewhat rational. I think they'll be so beat up from the pens series and caps series that they'll have no chance to get to the final.

This makes me very happy considering Ristolainen is an RFA. Six years, $30 mil or so...no problem whatsoever

Lindholm and Vatanen are both up this summer so they'll probably in this range as well.

Not stoked that I gotta wait til Friday for the Ducks to play. Stoked on those two extra days of rest for the injured players though.

    Tonight, just for fun:

    3-2 Red Wings
    4-1 Penguins
    3-2 Blues

The blues really should win tonight. Blowing a keith-less game is a bad start for them.
