Stanley's the best pass blocker in the class right now. If you need a day 1 starter at LT, he'll be solid. Tunsil will be a better player, but his pass blocking technique isn't as sound as Stanley's yet.

 

Ronnie Stanley vs. Laremy Tunsil is something that hasn't been discussed enough during the pre-draft process. I think they're both elite tackle prospects.

Stanley is the better pass protector, which is the key trait for blindside tackles.

 

The Chargers may end up taking DeForest Buckner at 3.

 

They could use both, badly. I feel like tackle is more likely though. But hey if they think someone will be there at the top of round 2, by all means. They were horrific on their DL last year.

 

I would take the OT because DL is extremely deep in this draft class.

And it wouldn't be a bad pick in the slightest, but a lot of people will be scratching their heads because he hasn't been mocked to them over the past month.

 

Honestly, I wouldn't even be mad if the Browns grabbed Stanley at 8. I would be very surprised if he or Tunsil was on the board at 8 though.

The Jags and Chargers swapping spots makes too much sense at this point though. The top 10 feels like it should be a crazy one though.

 

I noticed a lot of people dropping Stanley even lower than before lately, had no idea. Never thought it would be a bad pick. I wonder if its possible that they did their diligence on non qbs that would be there at 3, maybe thinking the titans would stay the course and ended up liking Stanley a lot.

 

I get that in reality, it means nothing...but from everything I have gathered the past few days, if Elliott gets past Dallas at 4 (which seems more and more likely), he will be there for Miami at 13 (without anyone else trading up, of course)

all of the Giants/Bears beat writers seem to think that their teams will be going defense in round 1.

 

FWIW, earlier today Zeke said that Chicago has shown the most interest in him

 

His old position coach is with the Bears. I think if he's available at 11, they'll take him.

 

ESPN has a mock draft special right now where the beat writers from each team are picking the players for the teams they cover, based on what they've been hearing

I don't know how I'd feel if they actually did that. I think the Browns are going to end up trading down again.

 

Miami will trade (BACK) up to 8 to take Elliott

I think the Browns are going to be asking for a lot to do that. Chances are the OTs are gone by the time they get to 13 and that might be a bit high for the WRs in this draft, so it would be a pretty big sacrifice for them. It's hard to gauge what they'll do because a lot depends on how much they value Paxton Lynch though. Browns should be another rollercoaster on Thursday night.

Even that, that's a good haul. Probably better to get Zeke out of it in this draft though.

 

Possibly. I could see Tennessee offering a 2nd to move up and lock down one of the OTs. It really depends what happens in the top 7. It feels like something crazy will happen and someone will get taken way too high.

 

Actually wouldn't be surprised if the giants traded down and grabbed a tackle.
