I got Spurs

 

I don't think the firing itself is inherently uncalled for, or wanting to go in a new direction, but it definitely becomes a super questionable move given who else is available right now.

 

Cool stats that are keeping me excited about the future of the Hornets as long as Clifford is the coach.

Best win differential from last season
Fouled less than any other team
Less turnovers than any other team
Top 10 offense in league
Top 10 defense in league

We just need to make a couple upgrades

 

all candidates colossally worse than Vogel

 

Gonna be a rough few years unless they pick someone good out of left field

 

Larry Bird should just coach the Pacers again

 

When he finds the next Rick Carlisle I'm sure he'll consider it

 

This is going to be an absolute disaster unless they're somehow able to pick one of those guys and catch lightning in a bottle with them being a perfect fit here, where they weren't elsewhere.

 

I wonder how many years of not making the playoffs until Paul George demands a trade? I'd say two tops.

Perhaps he'll demand a trade to the 2013 Pacers.

 

Yeah, if whoever they pick isn't well on their way to building something great, he's definitely leaving.

 

The funny part is that those title contending teams a few years ago featured Vogel's lowest moment as a coach IMO, when he absolutely blew that conference finals game against Miami by leaving Hibbert on the bench when he was the only one that could reasonably protect the paint and they gave up the most simple of game winning shots because of it.

Hah! I got them too, but I'm a Lakers fan so I suppose I don't have the same feeling about it as you do.

 

Crazy how many failed coaches get re-hired in the NBA

 

It's like that in every sport

 

Coaches are kinda like CEOs

I feel like the NFL is worse about it. There are dudes who have like 15-20 year careers of barely breaking .500
