  2. Mavs over Heat in 2011 would still be a bigger upset in my mind. Pistons over Lakers too probably.

    Luroda and domotime2 like this.
  3. No way. Not even close. That was 2-3-2 as well.

  4. On paper and as far as the media goes, how is that not a huge upset though? Or are you just saying it's not as big as this would be?

  5. I'm saying it's not even remotely close to as big as this would be. Dallas won the regular series, Miami was the second seed out of the East, didn't even have the best record in their conference that year. Compared to the best regular season team of all time (Warriors)? I don't think that's even close to the same level of "upset." Hell, the year the Warriors beating the Mavs in round 1 was a bigger upset than that finals series was.

  6. I guess I'm just not remembering how the season went down (I was in college, things were a bit hazy ;-p), but I thought when those playoffs started that it was a foregone conclusion that it was Miami's playoffs to lose.

Just going through Basketball Reference, I guess there isn't really anything quite like beating a 73-win team no matter how you can compare it. Because even looking at the Pistons over Lakers in 2004, it's not like that Pistons team was very bad. They finished third in the East and took care of the Nets and Pacers in the playoffs.

Do you think it's still possible for Steph or Klay to win MVP of the series? Would it have to go more than 4 games for that to happen and contain super ridiculous numbers to overshadow the "blah" game tonight? I wonder what the 'worst' game of a series has been for an MVP in the Finals. I'll investigate tomorrow when I'm at work.

  8. Just saw this

  9. The points were so spread out on GSW that no one is really a front-runner for Finals MVP right now.

  10. Barbosa for MVP!

I'd say Livingston for sure at #1.

I should clarify. I meant what was / is the worst game the Finals MVP had in the Finals. Can one game decide it for the worse as it may for the better? Jordan won six, but did he have a game where he only scored four points and had ten turnovers over something, or were all games good / amazing?

Interesting that the Finals MVP award didn't start until the '68-'69 season.

  13. oh, gotcha, not sure about that. My googling gave me this:

Andre Iguodala is worst NBA Finals MVP in last 30 years

    I are sad.

  16. I think the Warriors bench could probably make the East playoffs as the 8 seed

  17. I noticed Lebron guarding Curry fairly often last night and it seemed to be effective. Too bad he can't guard everyone which is apparently what the Cavs need to win.

This hornacek conference is pretty awkward

  19. Do you ever wonder if sometimes he's just thinking "man, I wish everyone was as good as me on my team?" Closest he got was that one year of Wade, I feel, like to a true "can do it all" player next to him. The Pippen, Klay type.

Agree with this. I don't think he has found the guy yet that is great both ways and accents his game. Imagine if he played with a PG13, Kawhai, or Klay. I feel like that is the type of player he would fit perfectly with.

  21. I am very happy I was out seeing live music all night to distract me. I was peaking at the bar around the time we cut it to 4 and then noticed it slipping away and tried to forget about it. Finding out later that Steph and Klay didn't do much was not fun.

Last night really was a worst case scenario for the Cavs. Klay and Curry only combine for 20 points, and you still get beat pretty handily by Livingston and Iggy.

Livingston is finally back. Heck, everyone was back for GM1. But hats still off to Klay for getting the Warriors there. Cavs ran right through the Hawks, but when they dropped two to Toronto I got worried. They looked awful yesterday.

I felt like Durant did a way better job. Heck, OKCs defense was top notch for the most part. I know it's early, but I'm worried Cavs won't compete

Klay with Lebron would be a great duo.
