It's because they don't cry or complain. They will never blame the refs for what happened. They don't gloat when they win. They always represent themselves with class.

Parker and Ginobili complain a ton. If we were just talking about Duncan or something I'd give you that argument, but they've been as much the face of the Spurs as he has.

I mean, I could be totally talking out of my ass, but is there a huge difference between the Spurs and the rest of the league in that regard?

  8. Oh come on. They absolutely cry and complain! They whine after calls, they flop, and Pop absolutely has blamed the refs, and is a cankerous old man! And none of that has to do with LeBron and how he's covered by the media when a team he's on loses versus when a team everyone expected to show up shits the bed.

To be fair, Duncan is shocked every time a foul is called on him

  10. Duncan had two MVPs, Kawhi finished top 2 this year and has been seen as the "face" of the new franchise ... they've got players that they could discuss if they wanted to. But instead it seems like walking in they can do no wrong, no matter what ... even when they're wrong. It's pretty bullshit to watch ... if a bad team with LeBron loses he gets shit on. A good team he's on loses? Crucified. The expectations, or the reaction to the outcome, for the one man are more than the entire team ... that's so weird to me. I think it's ridiculous and just like pointing it out.

Also I don't really get the whole complaining about fouls = lack of maturity/class. David West is a good example. That dude is one of the most highly respected people in the whole NBA and I can tell you he complains about literally every foul. It's just what some guys do. It's not necessarily a bad thing, IMO.

I'm not saying there isn't other classy players or teams by any means. I'm just trying to point out that not many others go and thank the opposing coach when they win coach of the year. Or how there has never been a game in the playoffs where they lost and didn't shake hands afterward. There was never anyone giving themselves outlandish nicknames or celebrating because they made a 3. And you have never seen one of those viral post game press conferences involving a spur (except maybe pop). I just think maybe the media respects that to a degree.

Basically if you call yourself King, you're inviting that criticism.

  15. Especially from the arm chair quarterbacks that I know are whining on Instagram that they didn't get enough foam in their Starbucks that morning. Totally agree.

  16. You're a Spurs fan and don't watch Patty Mills and his towel on the bench? Come on.

All of a sudden even more happy with this score.

This is kind of bordering on "bat flips ruin baseball" style rhetoric right now. I don't agree with this at all.

I like the Spurs, but to act like they're in a class of their own apart from the rest of the league is a little absurd.

I was thinking they'd upgrade the backcourt

  19. Not saying this about you specifically because I obviously don't know you, but the "our shit don't stink" attitude the Spurs have is sort of a turn off to me. A lot of their fans boast how perfect/mature/respectful or whatever you want to call it they are and it's annoying.

I guess I can't quite put to words what I'm trying to say precisely. Gonna sit these next few plays out.

Part of what I'm trying to say is that certain players I guess attract that certain level of media scrutiny. I feel like in a way Steph curry does no wrong but someone like LeBron can never do anything right. If that makes any sense

Andre Miller is going to play until he's nine hundred years old and has played for every team in the NBA.
