Angels have a game like this every now and then and it gives me hope that they can sustain this enough to make the playoffs again... but then they'll get swept by the Twins.

  2. Heyward 0-2 so far. I really want him to go crazy this series and hit like 4 HRs haha.

He's more likely to hit 4 2Bs. His power never really developed. For his skill make up I think I'd probably think higher of him if he was a .315 hitter as opposed to a sub .300 hitter.

Minus betting that the Cubs had a brighter future I wonder if there was something we don't know on why he had no desire to return.

Was a good game and the the Cards blew it with runners on 2nd and 3rd.

Next inning Cubs just took over the game.

I was certain Carp was going to drive the ball somewhere.

Mike Leake probably had two of their hardest hit balls of the night. One was foul and the other was right at Fowler.

That's what worries me the most about the Cardinals. They don't seem to get solid contact, especially against good teams.

He's starting to get up there with Joe Buck on my "announcers I hate" list

What's wrong with Buck? What pissed me off about the ESPN broadcast crew was they just babbled on about God knows what half the game. Nicest feature of MLB.tv is how you can overlay the radio audio with the video.

It's funny, cause I thought I was watching a Dodgers game on ESPN the other night, but apparently it was actually a pseudo-documentary on Puig with some live baseball shots thrown in for good measure.

Also the ESPN guys trying to talk about analytics last night was hilarious. It's like they realized that this stuff is important and literally has changed how the game is played yet they don't know anything about it. They basically just kept on stating that because of analytics the team has allowed them to make that decision but they don't have it so they weren't in the know.

Dude it's your job to talk about baseball. Learn some of that shit. It's not hard.

For me, it's a combination of things. Primarily, I just don't think he's good at what he does. Regardless of what sport/game he's calling, he's constantly pointing out the obvious, with little to no insight into the actual game occurring. He just regurgitates statistics with his usual air of condescension and entitlement. I also think I've heard him call too many games where the NY Giants lose, and I associate his stupid voice with those memories.

I can't stand Joe Buck but Curt Schilling is infinitely worse. He is a stupid man.

Curt Schilling has actually played the sport so he has a clue, gives him the slight edge over Buck for me. And ESPN games are horrendous. They just sit there and bullshit half the time. Kruk sounds like they patched in a live feed to have some guy sitting at a bar call the game.

My issue with Buck is that his calls during big moments (big hits, game-winning homeruns) are really, really dry. Not a whole lot of emotion at all.

I kind of understand it because national broadcasters are being seen by the whole country and don't have the privilege of belonging to the "in-group" of a local team, so they can't show their bias or emotion like a hometown announcer would be able to. But still, it always seems like Joe Buck would rather be anywhere else.

Say what you want about him as an announcer. He's hilarious on Twitter. He gets on periodically and basically makes fun of all the people shit talking him.

Ooh, yeah that's a huge problem with Buck. I'm a Giants fan, and he absolutely murdered the David Tyree catch, the most exciting play I've ever personally watched.

I think he's known for hating on NY teams no matter what. As long as I can remember both Yankee and Mets fans seem to despise him.
