So with Jose Reyes off the hook legally what do you think is going to happen? And when do you think he's in over Story?

I'd say he still gets suspended, much like Chapman did.

What'll probably happen is they'll try to make him a second baseman and someone might slide in and break the rule on purpose because everyone hates him

Did everyone hate him before this, or you just mean because of this?

I don't think he was really liked to begin with, especially toward the end in NY. This is definitely a big deal, everyone knows he did it and shouldn't be back. The fact that there's a chance he might come back is awful.

I'm not encouraging violence at all, I just think its probably much more probable than not

Twins averaging 1.86 runs per game through their first 7. Fucking gross.

My friend is a really big twins fan, I feel really bad for her. I was happy they were pretty good last year but she gets so depressed most years.

never had a problem with it, even when watching multiple games at the same time.

It just sucks as a small market team in baseball, you really need to build for a few years and hope that youth and talent line up just right. We were lucky enough to sustain it for as long as we did in the 2000s so a lot of young adults aren't used to seeing this level of suckage for this long.

We're not going to do anything this year, probably next either, but I was looking forward to watching us knock some balls around the park and lose because our pitching blows. Not this.

A new collegiate summer league starts this summer in Savannah. They are called the Savannah Bananas. :sly:

Was there a survey where you get to choose the name?

I don't even know. I thought it was a joke until I saw the legit website. I know they usually have kind of shitty names but they were for real just like fuck it lol

haha there is an Independent League team around here called the Skeeters and they have a Yellow Mosquito as a mascot. You saying this reminded me of that(although not QUITE as bad as the Bananas), and that name was actually voted on.

Honestly what team retains their big name to be FA. Hell the Dodgers let Grienke walk because of money and he went to the Diamondbacks who aren't a big market team. I actually think as a whole the league is leaning more towards homegrown talent and that most players are replaceable with maybe one or two key FA/trade acquisitions to round out their lineup. Do you may start to see even more ebb and flow of who the top team is at the time because teams are more reliant on that young talent being developed.

The last true rec league team I played on before moving on to Legion and showcase teams during the summer named ourselves the wookies. Never let high school freshmen name a baseball team.

Definitely not trying to make excuses or anything, and it was worse off 15 years ago, but you can't honestly tell me that the large-market teams don't have the financial maneuverability to throw money at holes in their lineup more so than the small-markets. Twins/A's/D-backs(even with Grienke they're in the bottom 1/4 of the league against the cap)/Brewers need to pick their shots, whereas teams like the Yankees and Dodgers can really throw caution to the wind when it comes to payroll decisions. The effects of a couple missed acquisitions aren't felt nearly as hard.

I think it has more to do with the owners. All these teams do have the money especially with the TV deals coming in. But some want to basically be cheap to create the greatest profit for their own good. I'm beginning to believe less and less about big v small market and more about how much emphasis the management puts on winning over greater profit margins.

Oh it definitely does. For sure. But the Twins could not possibly sustain a +200 million dollar cap for the same stretch that NY has. All I'm saying.

Our minor league team is the Hartford Yard Goats. Ugh lol.

Used to be the New Britain Rock Cats, actually Trevor Story played there. Would've gotten some autos if I could've seen the future haha.
