Yea, I'm surprised someone wants to trade for him. Maybe if its super cheap? Hes controlled after this coming season though he will be owed a decent chunk because of that. Duffy is fine but idk why the royals would trade him tbh they're not like fully rebuilding or anything, maybe at the deadline since hes an FA next off season.

 

I would think Duffy's price is high to part with cuz he's their best pitcher isn't he?

 

I was 8 but I still remember October 2002 so well. Honestly just realized how sad it is the A's are the most successful team In the division lol

 

Actually now that you say that I remember watching that series and rooting for y'all(before I knew any better :P).

Also I guess I didn't realize how much of a one-horse race the division has been for the past practically decade and 1/2, the leader just seems to change every couple years. Fucking wild!

 

That's interesting, I guess so. I mean hes not thattt good like he's probably a no.3 on most teams but they lost volquez and Ventura is a mess so its one of those guys. They're in such a weird situation with having to sell some guys because they can't pay them all but I feel like they'll wait it out for Duffy or trade him for a few months rather than going into the year without him.

 

The Chapman signing seems to have made a lot of Yankees fans forget that they're still in a partial rebuild. So much whining about how they need to get starters when they currently have Mitchell, Severino, Green, Cessa and in the future Adams, Sheffield, Kaprielian who are all going to have to be evaluated. I see people saying they should trade for Brandon McCarthy? Like how is that possibly worth trading for lol. God, the impatience. Maybe in the future some of these guys get traded for a really good pitcher, but it's just not the time for that at all.

Holland must really want to be in LA. He could potentially close for Washington, a contender in a seemingly leaner division. Seems a bit odd from my vantage point.

 

I thought people were talking about Derek Holland, which makes even less sense.

 

What the fuck happened to Dutch the few years?

 

Injuries. He had a great year a few years ago, pretty sure he was a top 10 pitcher, then got hit with a bad illness and lost lots of weight which set him back. Then the knee injury, shoulder injury, whatever else. Thought he could have been a good part of the rotation if it wasn't for those.

 

Definitely, just a crazy sequence of events. I'll definitely miss him when he inevitably signs elsewhere
