Is $80-90MM fuck you money?

 

Not only is this a big money deal, but STL gives up the #19 pick as well. Seems like Mozeliak gave us the show and go in his winter meeting comments this week about being patient and waiting the market out.

 

He was an all star last year as well, so I can't imagine he was bad haha. Playoff baseball can sometimes leave you with an inflated or deflated sense of a player.

 

I want him to get 100MM+

In my own mind, I think anything above like 30MM is fuck you money because I have such a hard time even imagining the reality of such wealth, but I want Dex to get paid paid paid paid paid.

 

Damn Pablo Sandoval got skinny. Barely recognize him. Talked my share of shit about him, but seems like this is an actual change of mindset. Rooting for him to do well, just not against the Yankees lol.

 

Neat that Fowler is on board, hopefully the fanbase can contain their racism.

 

If that happens, I can wear my Cards Heyward shirt in irony.

 

What's the so called Cardinal "culture" under Matheny that Fowler doesn't like?

 

It was some shitpost on a Cardinal fansite. Wouldn't read too much into it.

 

Basically what it boiled down to is that the Cardinals Way is more of the old school don't celebrate or show anyone up or as some people called it the white way. Honesty neither Heyward or Fowler have ever struck me as the kind of player that is extravagant to the point that the Brian McCann's of the world would get upset. There is though a movement in the Cardinals blogosphere to try and discredit Matheny because they don't think he his a good manager.

Ultimately I don't think that's why Heyward left but I do find it funny that lookin back his swing got screwed up in Atlanta. Fixed in St. Louis and then messed up in Chicago. So while their core may have been better maybe the auxiliary coaching staff may have helped him more. But there is so much that goes into that stuff. I've also read some stuff how St. Louis frowns upon their players seeking outside coaching help so yeah.

 

Jenkins is such a solid dude, too. Loves the game and is just fun to watch. Hopefully the change of scenery works out for both of these guys.

Yeah they have like zero in their farm too. They gave them up to get Simmons. Honestly I'm completely fine with this as a Rangers fan. Watching Angels fans suffer is a favorite pastime of mine :)

Don't worry I've especially enjoyed the sufferings of the Rangers, especially in recent seasons. It goes both ways
