For the first time in my life, I'm happy for the Sox and it's cool to watch them rebuild this way.

It's weird feeling my animosity for them fade away.

So has anybody seen discussion on how far up the White Sox farm system has jumped up? The Yankees went from like 15 to 2 at the deadline, this must be pretty similar.

I think the Yankees farm system was better before those trades than the sox system was before today's. I'd say top 10 for sure. Usually takes a few days to get the rankings right.

 

I see EE going to Rangers for 1 year and if he doesn't go for that bring back Nap.

They wouldn't trade him for a package better than the one the nats gave up for eaton, what makes you think the rangers would swing that?

 

Because JD tends to pull moves like that and I could see it coming together

 

I mean like if you give up 5 in your 10 or something maybe. If they do trade him it wont be till after pirate fest now so wont know for awhile. Honestly the pirates have maybe the cheapest and most wealthy owner in all of baseball so its probably gonna happen at some point.

 

Even though the Rockies say they signed Desmond to play 1B, I'd be very surprised if they didn't make that signing so that they could trade an OF and are just trying to save face/not lose all bargaining power

Given that it's the Bucs it's not a matter of IF, it's a matter of when. My thoughts are they tried to trade him to a few specific teams at the meetings and didn't come to terms so they got ideas and will come back around after fan fest so they don't look terrible.

Probably, its just awful. I have so many friends who are pirates fans that have to suffer through this because they have a pos owner who hates spending but is incredibly wealthy. If they spent on pace with the dodgers they may have had a chance at a world series the last few years. I think they learned dragging his name in the dirt is only going to infuriate the fan base more at the organization so they'll just keep quiet till then. Its a shame because Neal has made a lot of great moves despite the refusal to spend.

I guess they would play Gallo at first but he's such a 50/50 guy that I wouldn't be surprised if they kept him in the minors for a few months to see if they could work a miracle on his hitting tool. I dont know what they'd do with profar, I know they might trade Harrison but tbh I think they're pretty similar players atm and have similar versatility so that's lateral unless profar plays ss? I mean I think there's probably a fear with a guy who is injury prone to play ss or of so that's a question but they could move him there and get rid of jody, if not I think he'd play 3rd. Josh bell has to fit somewhere in this equation though because him and meadows will almost definitely come up if they move cutch. They have a lot of good players I guess.

The bucs main need is really pitching so I think jurado would definitely be in it. They have a few other guys I think they'd like, the bucs have kind of a thing for tall pitchers so matuella makes sense. Maybe they just get the best value and then turn around and make another trade? Idk

We'll see. I just cant see him in a rangers uni, its weird.
