I'm not arguing with that. I think it was a good move that frees up money and they get some prospects that most likely won't turn to anything but you never know. You were just acting like he was terrible and I always thought he was a solid pitcher who had trouble staying healthy.

The new format is awesome. The old way it became way to bloated and took forever.

 

The cardinals got Lenny dykstras son in that trade, wonder if hes a pos too

 

It had gotten completely unwatchable before the change. I don't miss watching guys take eight soft tosses in a row.

I know the Yankees will sign some DH, just hope it's one of the shorter contract guys for 1 or 2 years. I kinda want them to take a shot on Holliday maybe.

v excited for him to come back. He was great.

 

Chris Carter, Mitch Moreland, Matt Holliday are all decent options. I thought for sure they would go after someone like Ian Desmond. I just feel like he would fit in there.

 

Yankees don't seem to be big on giving up picks, idk why they'd give up one to sign ian Desmond who plays where ellsbury plays. The Mets made way more sense for Desmond but they're cheap as hell.
Moreland is the guy they'd probably want because hes not old and can play infield also.

 

Yeah, I don't see Desmond cause they won't bring in someone that will take any outfield time from all the young outfielders they have. I wouldn't mind Carter either. Yeah, he's all strikeouts and homers but cheap low-risk. It's not like they're looking for the last piece of a championship team. They definitely need a passable back-up 1B, Refsnyder won't cut it over there.

If they didn't sign anybody I'm fine with them giving Tyler Austin a lot of time. I liked what I saw from him. Had some big hits in big spots. I'm excited to see how all these guys develop. And I can't wait til Frazier and Torres make it up here.

Odds are you'll see Mateo before you see Torres but who the hell knows since people are starting to compare Torres to Correa lol one will play off maybe both but I think they should deal didi for a solid pitcher if they can and then one can replace him

 

I'm not. Dude wasn't very good for more than half the season, defence wasn't great in CF and he wants 4 years and too much money.

I'd rather they went hard after Fowler, but they won't. Probably re-sign Moreland and call it a day.

 

Idk I know Torres will start in AA and if he does anything like in the Fall league he could fly through the minors. They seem down on Mateo after last season, he was rough last year. It will be interesting to see who makes it to the majors and who gets moved for a piece, and if it's prospects or someone like Didi. I think this is Castro's last year? Idk if they would try to re-sign him. At any rate, gonna be an interesting two years before they probably make a run at Machado or Harper when they're up haha.

 

He was learning practically 2 completely new positions so I don't fault him too much really still.

For 1 year it's fine, didn't think he'd be that much but I guess the other offers were probably like 2yrs for 16-18 so he bet on himself to rebound

 

Gonna miss Holliday. New York just got themselves a helluva dude.

 

He'll be a good mentor for the young guys. Gotta think they get a few more vets just because of that.

 

Hear nothing but good things about him, I wouldn't have minded keeping McCann around to help out our young guys, but seems like he'll be a good veteran addition.
